Southern State Community College
Southern State Community College (SSCC) is located in Hillsboro, Ohio with additional campuses in Mount Orab, Washington Court House, and Wilmington. SSCC was established back in 1975 and it now serves more than 2700 students. This school has a large number of different academic options including many associate’s degree programs as well as several certificate options. There are also several on-site bachelor’s degree programs at this school that are offered through other colleges or universities but can be completed at SSCC. Students will be able to take advantage of the online program and some degrees or certificate programs can be completed entirely online.
The SSCC nursing program has two different tracks for students to follow. There is the practical nursing program and the associate’s degree in nursing program. There is also a nursing transition pathway for current LPNs who wish to become RNs. Students will build up their nursing skills while attaining a great base of general nursing knowledge. The nursing program at this school has been approved by the Ohio State Board of Nursing and is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
