SGNA is offering the SGNA RN Advancing Education Scholarship to a Registered Nurse working in Gastroenterology who wishes to continue their education by pursuing a BSN, MSN or PhD. Funds of $2,500 for a full time student or $1,000 to a part time student (taking a minimum of three credit hours per semester) will be presented to the recipient(s) of this scholarship. To be eligible, you must be an SGNA member enrolled in an accredited advanced degree program, maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Are you or someone you know working towards becoming a Registered Nurse? SGNA has a new scholarship to assist you. The SGNA RN General Education Scholarship offers funds of $2,500 as a reimbursement to a student in an accredited nursing program. You must be a full-time nursing student with a minimum GPA of 3.0. To apply, fill out the application and submit it no later than July 31, along with a short essay, a letter of recommendation and a transcript of any coursework you have already completed. The recipient will be notified in October, and the funds will be awarded after the winner successfully completes the fall term. This is a great opportunity for nursing students and demonstrates SGNA’s commitment to helping ease the nursing shortage.

An endowed scholarship set up by Dr. Priscilla (LeMone) Koeplin, former Director of the Undergraduate Program of the School of Nursing, in honor of the parents of her and her late husband, Jacque. This scholarship is specifically designed to help non?traditional students in any program at the school of nursing with financial need. One or more annual awards may be given to students enrolled in any program within the school of nursing.
You do not need to apply for individual internal scholarships. Submit the scholarship application for your degree program to the Sinclair School of Nursing Office of Student Affairs. Once your application is received, you will be eligible for any scholarship for which you meet the eligibility criteria. All students will also need to have a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file.

The goal of Akron General Medical Center’s Service League Nursing Scholarship is to provide financial assistance for students regardless of race, religion, sex, age, disability or national origin, who are accepted by an accredited college of nursing. The Akron General Medical Center Development Foundation through endowments funded by the Akron General Medical Center Service League and other benefactors will provide scholarships. The scholarships are awarded based on candidate’s scholarship and financial need.
The recipient receives a one-year membership in ACNP and $1000 scholarship. The Award is presented annually at the ACNP National Clinical Conference. The recipient will receive a complementary registration to the Clinical Conference and a maximum of $750 to defer travel and lodging expenses.

This $1,500 scholarship helps licensed occupational and environmental health nurses improve their leadership skills and expertise by attending the 2026 AAOHN National Conference. You can use the funds for conference registration, travel, and related expenses.
Eligibility Requirements:
Application Process: Submit an application including a narrative of up to 500 words covering your career goals, skill development, financial need, and commitment to education. You also need to provide a letter of support from your employer or supervisor, a resume showing experience in the field, and the completed application form. Email all materials by December 1.

Additional Information: Recipients must submit a certificate of completion and a short report (up to 500 words) after attending the conference. The report should explain how the education helped improve worker health and safety. Reports are due by May 1. You cannot apply for this scholarship the following year but may reapply up to two more times in later years if you complete the requirements successfully.
This $2,500 award supports registered nurses or nurse practitioners who have earned their board certification in occupational health nursing and are active members of AAOHN. The scholarship helps cover costs related to certification, AAOHN membership, and attending the AAOHN National Conference.

Application Process: Submit a complete application by email, including two endorsement letters (one from a nurse colleague and one from your supervisor), proof of certification and membership, proof of conference attendance, and a narrative addressing specific questions about your professional journey, commitment, and conference experience.

Additional Information: The narrative should be no longer than four double-spaced pages and may be published by AAOHN. Recipients cannot reapply in future years or apply for other scholarships the following year. Selection is based on a 100-point scoring system covering your journey to certification, professional commitment, and conference impact.
New Careers in Nursing Scholarship Program aims to ease the nation’s nursing shortage by attracting new students into the profession of nursing while enhancing efforts to recruit students from underrepresented groups in nursing. Besides scholarship funding, this program also provides valuable support to students as they transition from other fields of study into nursing.
Five $10,000 scholarships will be awarded to underrepresented students. Underrepresented is defined by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation as ethnicity, gender, and/or financial need. Applications must be submitted to the SSON scholarship coordinator by December 21.

The BECA Foundation offers two scholarships for Latino students in San Diego County, ranging from $500 to $2,000. These awards support high school graduates pursuing college anywhere in the U.S. and students preparing for medical or health care careers. Applications open in early fall.

Eligibility for all educational scholarships to be awarded by the Department of California shall be granted only to students attending schools in California and who are a veteran, son, daughter, or spouse of a veteran.
Applicants for any Department of California Scholarship must be a resident of the State of California and planning on attending a college or university in California in the Fall. (Exception: Lucille Ganey Scholarship.)
The Process
The number of scholarships offered by the Department of California is dependent upon donations received and availability of funds.
Educational Assistance General Scholarship Applicant must fill out and submit one application form E21. a. One (1) $2,000 scholarship payable at $1,000 per year. b. Four (4) $1,000 scholarships payable at $1,000 each. c. Three (3) $500 scholarships payable at $500 each.
Continuing/Re-entry Students or students pursuing a higher degree Scholarship Applicant must fill out and submit one application form E21C. a. One (1) $1,000 Mel Foronda Memorial Scholarship. b. Two (2) $1,000 scholarships payable at $1,000 each. c. Two (2) $500 scholarships payable at $500 each.
The following three scholarships are restricted to the winning California candidates in the event they do not win on the Western Division National Competition.

Connie Settles Memorial Scholarship
Applicant must fill out and submit one application form application form E21S. a. One scholarship up to $5000 to be given annually and may include the cost of books. b. This is a gift scholarship and does not have to be repaid. c. Applicant must be a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and shall have paid dues for the two preceding years and for the calendar year in which the application is made. d. This scholarship is to be given yearly until funds are depleted. e. Only Senior members may apply, unless a Junior member is already attending college. f. It will be for ANY College or University. It is for undergraduate, masters, or doctorate programs. g. It is for continuing education students ONLY. h. Transcripts are required, along with one (1) letter from the applicant regarding themselves and their goals, plus two (2) letters of recommendation. i. The scholarship must be used within twelve (12) months of the date the winner is notified, otherwise the scholarship is forfeited. j. Applicant must present the completed forms to the American Legion Auxiliary Unit President on or before March 1 of the ensuing year. k. The winning entry from each Unit shall be certified by the Unit President and mailed to the District Education chairman to be received no later than March 15 of the ensuing year l. The District Education chairman shall choose one (1) winner and forward it to the Department Education Chairman m. When there is but one application the Department Education Chairman shall determine the amount needed and award said scholarship. n. When there is more than one application the Trustees of the Connie Settles Memorial Scholarship Fund shall make the final determination. o. The award shall be paid directly to the school that the applicant is registered and attending. p. The Department of California shall administer the funds and no information shall be given out regarding the funds. If questions arise, they are to be referred to the Trustees. q. The scholarship shall be given to a course of study that will enhance the future of the applicant. Therefore, no monies will be given to sewing classes, aerobics, sculpting or any other classes deemed to be nonessential.
Past Department Presidents Junior Scholarship Applicant must fill out and submit one application form application form E21J. a. Applicant must have consecutive membership as a Junior for three years and be current with her membership in the American Legion Auxiliary and must be a child, grandchild or great grandchild of a veteran who served in the Armed Forces of the United States during any of the following periods shown at the top of this page. b. Applicant must be currently attending high school and will be attending college during the following academic year. c. Applicant must be a resident of California or if applicant’s eligibility is by current members (Legion or Auxiliary) in California, the applicant may reside elsewhere. d. The scholarship shall be payable to the applicant as soon as confirmation has been received by the Department Office from the college of the applicant’s choice. e. The scholarship must be used within relative dates of one academic year following the award (i.e. September 04 – September 05) or be forfeited.
Established to assist registered nurses (RN) with advanced preparation for positions in supervision, administration or teaching. Students are to have prospects of being employed in specific positions in hospitals, clinics or health departments on completion of their education and the position must have a full-time and direct relationship to pediatric lung and respiratory control. Applicants must hold a current Registered Nurse license. Scholarship awards are $3,000.00 each.
Four scholarships are available for Idaho residents connected to the American Legion Family, offering $1,000 each for traditional and non-traditional students, including those pursuing nursing careers. Deadlines fall in May and June with awards given at the summer convention.

This $500 scholarship supports Nebraska residents enrolled in a four-year healthcare professional program who have a connection to a U.S. Veteran.
Eligibility Requirements:
Application Process: Complete the three-page application packet, including a narrative explaining your field of study and why you chose it. Submit two recommendation letters, a resume listing activities and community service, a letter of acceptance from your school, and a certified transcript. Applications must be submitted to your local American Legion Auxiliary Unit postmarked by March 1.
Deadline: March 1
Additional Information: The local Auxiliary Unit selects one applicant to advance to the state level by March 15. Scholarship funds must be used within the award year and will not be released after January 1 of the following year.
The American Legion Auxiliary Department of Ohio, Past Presidents Parley, has a program to assist students pursuing a degree in the nursing field.
Candidates for this scholarship shall be daughters, sons, spouses, granddaughters or great granddaughters of a veteran or a veteran who has served in the Armed Forces during the eligibility dates for membership in the American Legion.
Candidates must be a resident of Colorado.
Previous Parley Scholarship winners are not eligible for further competition.
The number of recipients and amounts of awards will be determined by the amount of contributions received during the current year from Units.
The 40/8 awards five $1,000 Nursing Scholarships each year to Nursing students. The Cabane gives out one $500 scholarship to a student in the medical field.
