Eastern Oklahoma State College
Eastern Oklahoma State College (EOSC) is located in Wilburton, Oklahoma and has one branch campus in McAlester and some teaching sites in Antlers. This history of this school goes all the way back to 1908 when it was founded as the Oklahoma School of Mines and Metallurgy. It has evolved significantly since these humble beginnings and it now serves around 2000 students. The school is fully accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. This school meets the diverse needs of the community by offering many degree and certificate programs for students to pursue. With smaller class sizes than usual, students receive great attention from instructors and are given all of the necessary tools to succeed in their desired career paths.
The EOSC nursing program allows students to obtain associate’s degrees in nursing. There is also an LPN-to-RN track for current LPNs who wish to pursue advancing to RN status. This program is also available to paramedics. The curriculum is designed to prepare students to perform client-centered care. This nursing program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
