Purdue University-Calumet Campus is part of Purdue University, which is a public institution with a total of four campuses. This campus was combined with the North Central campus in 2016 to establish Purdue University Northwest. The Calumet campus is located in Hammond, Indiana, while the North Central campus is in Westville, Indiana. The Hammond location is just 25 miles from downtown Chicago and a short drive from the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. The campus has its own fitness center and provides students with access to the Challenger Learning Center. Annual student enrollment is approximately 10,500 students. 

There are several undergraduate-level nursing programs available at Purdue University-Calumet Campus, including accelerated BSN, RN to BSN, LPN to BSN, and traditional BSN programs. An MSN program is also offered at the university. These programs are all accredited by the ACEN. The RN to BSN program is offered online and is intended for registered nurses seeking their Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. The program is designed to be completed in 16 months. However, the schedule is flexible, allowing registered nurses to fit their coursework around their work schedule. The master’s degree program offers two areas of concentration – Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist and Family Nurse Practitioner.
