Mount Carmel College of Nursing

Columbus, OH 43222

Mount Carmel College of Nursing is a private college in Columbus, Ohio. It is a small college, with a total of 154 students enrolled during the Fall 2016 semester. The nursing college was founded in 1903 by Sisters of the Holy Cross. It is located within the Mount Carmel West Hospital and is one of the largest baccalaureate nursing programs in the state. Freshmen and sophomores are required to live on campus. The college maintains its Catholic church affiliation and was accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA). Due to the location of the college, students receive hands-on clinical experience at the Mount Carmel West Hospital.

Four nursing programs are offered at the college, including traditional BSN, RN to BSN, accelerated BSN, and MSN. These programs are accredited by the CCNE. The traditional four-year program includes hands-on clinical training at acute-care hospitals and healthcare centers in the surrounding area. The college also offers online classes. These classes are available for the Rn to BSN program and the Master of Science – Nursing Education track. For students with a bachelor’s degree in a non-nursing field, the accelerated BSN program can be completed in just 13 months. The college also offers an advanced placement program that is designed for qualified students to earn their BSN in five semesters.
