Nursing Programs
The Northwest Technical Institute offers nursing education to students entering the health care profession by qualifying for licensure by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing. The Institute is accredited by the Commission Council on Occupational Education. Graduates from this program are also able to enroll in the Associate Degree Nursing program at NWACC or the Bachelor's Degree of Nursing Program at U of A.
Requirements for Admission
- Submit COMPASS and TEAS test scores.
- Official copy of your high school transcript or GED scores.
- Official college transcripts, if applicable.
- Immunization records for measles/rubella (only if born on or after January 1, 1957).
- Two references (Job or Personal).
The practical nursing program at Northwest is offered in three semesters and one summer term.
Students will be admitted for CNA to LPN track (needs to be a CNA for at least 6 months) and the LPN track.
The applications are processed between August 1st to November 1st for classes commencing on the 1st of the following January. Preferences will be given to higher scores on the COMPASS and TEAS scores if the number of qualified applicant should exceed the 50 slots available.
Graduates from the Practical Nursing Program of Northwest Technical Institute are eligible to apply for licensure by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing.
