The mean hourly wage for RNs in Tennessee is recorded at about $28.62 in 2009 as reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Memphis is one of the cities that are recorded to have a higher RN salary offer ($62,080).

If you are a high school student or an adult student how is trying to earn his/her first bachelor's degree in nursing, you can start your nursing school research from these schools. Austin Peay State University

The APSU campus spans 200 acres and its School of Nursing is situated in the McCord Building at the southwest part of the campus. The BSN program that they offer is an NLNAC accredited, full-time program with the best computer lab resources and audiovisual materials. The student clinicals are offered in various settings including acute care centers and other community-based healthcare facilities.

The school’s clinical sites were chosen to offer the student with optimized study experience. It may necessitate traveling to and from the sites such as Nashville. Nursing students need to have their own transportation during these instances.

This nursing school accepts applications to its BSN program twice each year; one for the Fall semester and the other is for the Spring semester.

Middle Tennessee State University

The School of Nursing is CCNE or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education accredited. It offers a traditional four-year Baccalaureate nursing program which has a selective admission process. Only the nursing clinicals are offered in evening or weekend shifts.

East Tennessee State University

Located in Johnson City, this public university offers a traditional BSN program which comprises of five semesters. Major courses are taken during these semesters as soon as the university core requirements have been met. ETSU is a CCNE accredited nursing school.
